Notify NYC - West Nile Virus Spraying
Notification issued 7/6/15 at 12:00 PM. Weather permitting, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will conduct aerial spraying of mosquito larvicide to help prevent West Nile Virus between 6 AM and 7 PM on Tuesday 7/7, Wednesday 7/8, and Thursday 7/9. The spraying will be conducted in parts of the following ZIP codes in The Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island: 10303, 10306, 10308, 10309, 10311, 10314, 10464, 10475, 11354, 11356, 11357, 11691, and 11692. In case of inclement weather, the alternate application dates will be Wednesday 7/8, Thursday 7/9, and Friday 7/10. Notification issued 7/4/15 at 9:10 PM. Emergency personnel are on the scene of a two alarm fire located at Wyckoff Avenue and Greene Avenue in Brooklyn. Expect smoke, traffic delays, and a presence of emergency personnel and vehicles in the area. The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene advises avoiding smoke exposure from structural fires by closing windows while indoors and reducing outdoor activity where smoke is present. People with heart or breathing conditions such as asthma may be more sensitive and should seek immediate medical attention if they experience a worsening of their condition, shortness of breath, or chest pains.
