Notification issued 3/27/15 at 10:00 AM. Due to the building collapse at 2nd Avenue and East 7th Street in the East Village of Manhattan, 2nd Avenue is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from East Houston Street to East 14th Street. In addition, East 7th Street is closed from 2nd Avenue to 3rd Avenue. Consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time.

Notify NYC - Silver Alert
Silver Alert issued 3/27/15 at 2:52 AM. NYPD has issued a Silver Alert in regards to the disappearance of Yefim Futoryan, an 84-year-old white male from the area of Brightwater Court and Brighton 4 Street in Brooklyn. He was last seen at approximately 10:00 AM on 3/26 wearing a black jacket, black sweat pants, grey sneakers and a brown hat. Mr. Futoryan is described as 5'6" tall and weighs 165 pounds. Notification issued 3/27/15 at 2:05 AM. Emergency personnel are on the scene of a three alarm fire located at East 66th Street 1st Avenue in Manhattan. Expect smoke, traffic delays, and a presence of emergency personnel and vehicles in the area. The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene advises avoiding smoke exposure from structural fires by closing windows while indoors and reducing outdoor activity where smoke is present. People with heart or breathing conditions such as asthma may be more sensitive and should seek immediate medical attention if they experience a worsening of their condition, shortness of breath, or chest pains.

In response to the prior building collapse at East 7th St and 2nd Ave, Manhattan on Thursday, 3/26, NYC will open a Resident Service Center at the Tompkins Square Branch Library at 331 E. 10th Street, Manhattan, at 8:00 AM on 3/27. If you are concerned about someone who may have been affected by the collapse and are unable to contact them, please call 311. From outside NYC, call (212) 639-9675.

Notification issued on 3/26/15 at 6:00 PM. The New York City Unified Victim Identification System (UVIS) has been activated in response to a Alarm Fire that occurred earlier today at 2nd Avenue and East 7th Street in Manhattan. If you are concerned about the welfare of someone who may have been affected by the collapse and are unable to contact them, please call 311. From outside of NYC, you may call (212) 639-9675. The American Red Cross has also opened a reception center at P.S. 63, located at 121 East 3rd Street in Manhattan.
