Notify NYC - Mosquito Aerial Larviciding
Notification issued 7/25/17 at 9:00 AM. In an effort to prevent West Nile Virus and other diseases spread by mosquitoes, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will use helicopters to apply mosquito larvicide in non-residential and marshy areas. The application will occur in parts of Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Staten Island between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM from Thursday to Monday (7/27 - 7/31). Spraying will be conducted in the following ZIP codes: 10303, 10305, 10306, 10308, 10309, 10310, 10311, 10312, 10314, 10464, 10465, 10475, 11229, 11234, 11239, 11354, 11355, 11356, 11357, 11362, 11363, 11365, 11413, 11422, 11691, amp; 11692. Notification issued 7/25/17 at 8:00 AM. The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Southern Queens from 9:00 PM until midnight tonight, 7/25. The affected area includes the South Shore Bays of Queens and Nassau County. Tidal departures around 1 foot above normal are expected. During a Coastal Flood Advisory, minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or properties is possible.
