Notify NYC - Planned Aircraft Flyover
Notification issued 5/27/16 at 3:05 PM. On Saturday, May 28, the Breitling Jet Team will conduct a photo mission beginning at 5:00 PM over various parts of NYC. The aircraft will travel westbound from Long Island over the water near the south shores of Queens and Brooklyn before turning and navigating north over the Verrazano Bridge, continuing up the east side of the Hudson River to the Tappan Zee Bridge. From there, the aircraft will turn around and travel southbound over the west side of the Hudson River to the Verrazano Bridge, before traveling northbound up the east side of the Hudson River to finish their route. During this operation, the aircraft will fly at an altitude of approximately 1,500 - 2,000 feet. The rain date for the event is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, at 5:00 PM. In conjunction with Fleet Week 2016, the U.S Coast Guard will conduct a search amp; rescue demonstration over The Sullivan's Pier in Staten Island, tomorrow, May 28th at 12:00 PM. The previously issued advisory remains in effect until 11:00 PM tonight. Active children and adults, and people with respiratory problems, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
