The National Weather Service has issued the following: What: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Where: Brooklyn and Queens When: Until 5:00 PM on 8/8 Hazards: 60 mph winds expected. Strong winds can cause flying debris, turn unsecured objects into projectiles, and cause power outages. Protective Actions: Exercise caution when walking, biking, or driving. If outdoors during a storm, move inside and away from windows. Stay OUT of flooded basements.
