Notify NYC - Coastal Flood Watch - Queens North

Notification issued 09-19-2024 at 06:48 AM.    The National Weather Service has issued the following: What: Coastal Flood Watch Where: Queens North When: 10 AM on  to 5 PM on 9/20 Hazards: Inundation of 1 to 2 feet above ground level is expected. Minor flooding of shore roads and/or adjacent properties is possible due to the height of the storm tide, wave splash-over, and/or effects of the full moon. Preparedness Actions:  - Avoid driving through or coming in contact with flood waters. Six inches of fast flowing water can knock you off your feet, and as little as one foot of rushing water can carry away a car. There could be pollutants in the water or other hazards that you cannot see. - Coastal flood waters could damage your vehicle.
